Reception

Reception arrival and collection

Parents enter through Cemetry Drive and walk up to Reception gate.  Arrival time is between 8.30am – 8.45am.  Home time is 2.55pm.

Ways to help at home

Encourage independence as much as possible! Where possible please encourage children to do the following independently:

• Get dressed, including zips and buttons.
• Use a knife and fork.
• Toileting.
• Carry their school bag and water bottle to and from school.
• Walk to and from school (without being carried or using a pushchair).

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum provides a play-based, experiential learning environment, drawing on the principles of the Curiosity Approach. We combine this with focussed teaching and in-depth knowledge of our children, ensuring they make rapid progress. Children engage in planned focussed activities as well as self-initiated activities.

Home Learning

We may ask for other home learning contributions throughout the year linked to our topics.

PE Kit

Reception children only need the following kit for PE:

• Gold polo shirt with school logo
• Green shorts (football style, not lycra) or skort (combined shorts/skirt)
• Black pumps

Please note that Reception children do not need the outdoor tracksuit/hoodie or trainers.
