Hagley Primary School follows the Worcestershire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2015 - 2020.
The aims are:
1) Know about and understand a range of religions and world views
2) Express ideas and insights about the nature, significance and impact of religions
3) Gain and deploy the skills needed to engage seriously with religions and world views
The syllabus requires that all pupils learn about Christianity in each Key Stage. In addition, pupils will learn about Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Judaism. Furthermore, non-religious world views, such as Humanism, are also studied.
RE is taught in line with curriculum topics in Key Stage One and may form a special week of teaching or taught throughout the term depending on the topic. Key Stage Two pupils are taught RE from a specialist teacher.
