John joined the Governing Body of Hagley Primary School in 2011 when he was elected as a Parent Governor and became Chair of Governors in September 2015. His connection with Hagley Primary School goes back more than 40 years having attended, what was at the time, Hagley First School.

Since graduating from Law School, John have been working in Financial Services in a range of senior leadership roles and  moved back to Hagley 12 years ago. John tries to apply his experience to every situation and challenge faced as Governors and as a school in order to achieve the best possible outcome. His hope is that he is able to support School in creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for our children. John passionately believes in the importance of the role the community needs to play to ensure Schools can help young people realise and develop their true potential.

Rebecca has been fortunate enough to be a Governor at Hagley Primary School for 11 years, initially as a Parent Governor and more recently as a Community Governor. Rebecca teaches part time at a local Primary school.

Vanessa Payne qualified as a primary school teacher in 1989 at the London Institute of Education and has worked in 8 schools over the last 27 years.  Her first Headship was at Dodford First School in Bromsgrove in 2008 before moving on to a Headship in Birmingham.  Vanessa was thrilled to be appointed as Head of Hagley Primary School in 2014.  She is passionate about ensuring that all children have access to an outstanding primary curriculum, with Mathematics, PE, Music and Languages being her areas of expertise.

I am currently working as a Teaching Assistant in Reception at Hagley Primary School  having previously pursued a career for many years with the Home Office Forensic Science Service.

My son and daughter have both benefited from the Hagley School system and gained University degrees.  I am a serving Magistrate sitting on the Worcestershire Bench presiding over both Adult and Family hearings.

Tom was elected as a Parent Governor from April 2017 and has two children currently attending Hagley Primary School. Tom is an employment lawyer and Legal Director at the largest commercial law firm in the Midlands, working with clients nationwide in the education sector.

Having grown up in Hagley and attended what was then Hagley First and Middle Schools, Tom is delighted to be using his education and skills to support future generations.

Anna is a Parent Governor at the school and currently has two of her three children attending Hagley Primary School. She has held leadership roles in several large secondary schools in Worcestershire and Sandwell and now works as a Chemistry Teacher at a local secondary school and is an active part of the local community. Anna  is one of the Phase Link Governors for Years 5 and 6, as well as the KS2 English Link Governor and the Science Link Governor.

Tess was delighted to become a Parent Governor in 2015 and has three children, all of whom have attended Hagley Primary School, with two of her children still attending.  Having previously worked as a Specialist Occupational Therapist, working with upper limb injuries, including those in the military and with children, she now works from home running her husbands’ private practice. 

Tess has enjoyed developing her skills as a Governor and has a particular interest in the Curriculum and how this affects the children.  Tess is one of the Phase Link Governors for Year 1/2 and is looking forward to fostering this relationship over the next few years.

Esther qualified as a primary school teacher in 1999 at St. Mary’s University, Strawberry Hill.  She began her career working in the borough of Kingston-Upon-Thames before relocating back to the Midlands.  Esther joined Hagley Primary School in 2005.  As well as leading on ICT and Curriculum, she has taken up two secondments to schools in Worcestershire including Acting Deputy-Headteacher.  In addition to this, Esther has spent some time working with Haybridge High School as a professional mentor for students training as teachers.

Fiona has lived in Hagley for over 20 years and is married to a retired local dentist.  Both my daughters have been through the Hagley school system, on to university and good careers. Fiona has recently retired after 35 years in Education, both as a teacher and latterly managing a teaching service for children with Special Educational Needs in a neighbouring local authority. She loves to travel, particularly to Africa, and is kept busy with two lively little grandsons!

Sybil's background is in education and was a Head Teacher until her retirement.  Sybil is particularly interested in the curriculum, how the children are developing and extracurricular activities in the school. Sybil is also the Special Educational Needs Governor and always enjoys visits to the school meeting the staff, pupils and parents.

Lise is Assistant Head Teacher and is responsible for Access and Inclusion.  Lise lives in Hagley and has 3 children all of whom attended Hagley Primary School.  She was previously a solicitor, but has always been keen to work with children and make a difference to their lives.

Sally is Assistant Head Teacher and is responsible for Teaching and Learning and the Curriculum.  Sally has been part of Hagley Primary School for two years and currently teaches in Year 3.  She is extremely passionate about teaching and making a difference to children's lives.  Her particular areas of specialism are Key Stage 2 and English.  Sally regularly leads on CPD training sessions and delivers INSET across a range of learning pedagogy, with recent drives this year in Growth Mindset, developing an invigorating curriculum and on different approaches to Writing.  Sally was recently appointed as a Specialist Leader of Education, a role she will have for the next two years.  Sally has two boys, both of whom are primary age.
